Stein Subman |
Stein survived AIDS during the early 1990s, a time when the disease was often a death sentence. He contracted the virus while working as an AIDS consultant, drawing on his expertise as a qualified nurse. His condition was nearly incurable, but thanks to a sharp-eyed radiologist who discovered an additional throat infection, treatable with penicillin, Stein was able to start life-saving HIV medication.
Unsurprisingly, this life-threatening experience profoundly changed his outlook. While continuing his work as a nurse, he pursued his passion for music, attending and graduating from the conservatory. Today, he works part-time as a music teacher, focusing in part on students from the trans community.
During the Covid pandemic, he began writing erotic novels—a new creative chapter in his life. You can read more about him in the upcoming issue of Norden+ Magazine.
